Inuenju
Maackia amurensis


A medium sized deciduous tree with brownish grey smooth bark. The bark gives out an offensive smell.

Leaves are alternate, oddly pinnate. Leaflets are opposite with entire margin.

Many white flowers open in July to August.

It grows on the wetty fertile places in the cool or warm temprate zone.

The wood is used for alcove-posts, furniture, handles of implements.

Distribution ; Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Korea, Kuriles
