Nanakamado
Sorbus commixta


A deciduous small tree with greyish brown fissured bark.

Leaves are alternate, odd-pinnate, glaucous beneath. In autumn leaves turn to red beautifully.

White flowers open in May to July. Pomes ripen scarlet in autumn.

It grows in the cool temperate or the subalpine zone preferring sunny places.

The wood is used for utensils, furnitures.

Distribution ; Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Korea, Saghalien, Southern Kuriles
