Leaves are alternate, imparipinnate, thin coriaceous, broadly alate between the leaflets.

Many small white flowers open in August to September. Dioecious.

This tree is intolerant tree and commonly found in secondary forests.

Distribution ; Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Ryukyu, Formosa, Manchuria, China, Indo China, Himalayas
