Taimintachibana
Rapanaea neriifolia


An evergreen small tree with greyish blue smooth bark.

Leaves are alternate, coriaceous, oblanceolate, entire on the margin, obtuse at the apex, deep green and lustrous above, yellowish green and opaque beneath.

Greenish white flowers open fasciculately on the previous year shoots in March to April.

This tree is widely found on seashore in the warm temperate to subtropical zone.

The wood is used for the interior finish, fuel. The bark is used for vermicide and dye.

Distribution ; Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Ryukyu, Formosa, China
