Tsunohashibami
Corylus Sieboldiana


A deciduous shrub with pale greyish brown bark.

Leaves are alternate, ovobate, abruptly acuminate at the apex.

Fruits maturing in September to October, are edible. (Hazel nuts)

It grows in sunny thickets on cool temperate mountain, but very rare in Shikoku and Kyushu.

The wood is used for stick, handles of utensils.

Distribution ; Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Korea
