Euonymus oxyphyllus


A deciduous small tree with grey thin smooth bark.

Leaves are opoosite, ovate, acuminate at the apex, serrulate, chartaceous, bright green and lustrous above, paler beneath.

Petioles are short and glabrous.

White flowers open in axillary pendulous long peduncle on new shoots in May to July.

It grows on fertile sites in the warm to the cool temperate zone.

The wood is used for printing blocks, mosaic works. It is planted for garden trees.

Distribution ; Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Southern Kuriles, Korea, China
