A deciduous tall tree with greyish brown smooth bark.

Leaves are alternate, acuminate at the apex and having with 10-15 pairs of lateral veins.

This species is common in the warm or cool temperate zone near the village.

The wood is used for alcove posts, stick, fuels, spinning bobbins and culturing fungus.

Distribution ; Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Korea, China
