Kominekaede
Acer micranthum


A deciduous small tree with thin blackish brown smooth bark.

Leaves are decussately opposite, pentagonal, palmately 5-lobed, incisely and doubly serrate.

It grows on low mountains in the cool temperate zone. Acer tschonoskii grows on more upper and coller places.

It is planted for garden trees for their beautiful red leaves in autumn.

The wood is used for handyworks, wood shavings.

Distribution ; Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu
