Konara
Quercus serrata


A deciduous tall tree with dark grey smooth bark.

Leaves are alternate, with pretty long petioles, serrate with callous tips.

This tree is the most common tree in the temperate zone in Japan and grows lower atitude than Quercus mongolica var. grosseserrata.

The wood is used for fuels, beds of mushroom.

Distribution ; Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Korea
