Broussonetia Kazinoki


A deciduous shrub with greyish brown fissured bark.

Leaves are alternate, thin, ovate, long-acuminate at the apex.

It grows at suny places in the warm temperate zone and planted for Japanese paper.

The fibers of the bark are used for Japanese hand-laid paper. The fruits are edible.

Distribution ; Honshu, shokoku, Kyushu, Ryukyu, Formosa, Korea, China
