Mansaku
Hamamelis japonica


A small deciduous tree with grey bark.

Leaves are alternate, deeply undulate-toothed on the upper margin, obliq at the base.

Yellow flowers open in February to April before leaves.

It grows in the cool to warm temperate zone.

The branches are used for fastening rafts and timbers.

Distribution ; Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu
